The Art World’s Dilemma: Too Much Art, Not Enough Space

Every year, artists around the globe create 125 to 250 million new artworks. It’s a staggering number, a testament to the boundless creativity of millions of artists who pour their passion into their work. Yet, despite this immense output, the unfortunate reality is that most of these pieces will never make it out of the artist’s studio.

According to recent studies, only 1 in 5 artists will ever exhibit their work in their lifetime. With just 25,000 galleries and 7,500 museums worldwide, exhibition space is scarce. And, when you consider that 99% of collectors are one-time buyers, the odds of selling or even showing an artwork are slim. The demand from collectors simply cannot match the enormous volume of art being produced.

So where does that leave the millions of artists competing for visibility and opportunities in a saturated market?

Our Approach: Making Art Accessible in Public Spaces

At The Public Art Gallery, we recognize these challenges and believe that every artist deserves the chance to not only create but also sell, exhibit, and share their work with the world. That’s why we’ve developed a suite of services that help artists bypass the traditional art world’s gatekeepers and find new ways to monetize and display their art
